Zirconia Ceramic Plunger:

Zirconia plungers are precision-ground solid or cored rods made from yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ), designed for high-pressure reciprocating pumps. Their ultra-smooth surface and extreme hardness minimize seal wear while resisting abrasive slurries and corrosive fluids. 

Zirconia ceramic plunger advantages:

Zirconia plungers deliver outstanding fracture toughness—far exceeding alumina—combined with excellent chemical inertness and zero electrical conductivity. They operate reliably under extreme pressure cycling without cracking or galling.

Ceramic Plunger application:

These plungers are widely used in high-pressure waterjet cutting pumps, reverse osmosis (RO) and seawater desalination systems, and aggressive chemical dosing pumps. They also serve in oil & gas well-stimulation pumps, pharmaceutical metering, and food processing equipment.
